P2A Grand River Recovery Ride

 9 a.m. – Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course, Brantford (63 km/466 m)

Shake out your legs after Sunday’s race with a FREE recovery ride highlighting the most scenic elements of the Grand River. We’ll cycle on a variety of quiet gravel paved roads that roll a little, and meander on trails that follow the river as it winds between Paris and Brantford.

We’ll aim to divide into three groups of 15 based on preferred pace: Social (20-24 km/h average); Tempo (23-26 km/h); and Spirited (27 km/h+).  A mid-ride break at Detour Coffee in Paris is included, compliments of the Heart of Ontario – Hamilton-Halton-Brant. We’ll also have a support vehicle circulating throughout the ride, just in case!

Cycling here is just Grand!

The Grand River is a local treasure, no matter how you experience it: rafting, kayaking, hiking or biking. Riding the stretch between Paris and Brantford offers a bit of everything: gravel roads, wooded trails and parkland. 

On this recovery ride following the Paris 2 Ancaster race, we'll follow a 64 km route that hits all the highlights at a friendly enough pace that you'll be happy to pause for selfies, scenic shots or just to enjoy the view. 

Our guides will keep you on track and on pace, so everyone returns feeling refreshed and ready - for the ride home, or for another day of cycling in the area.

While you're riding, your partner has plenty of options.

Stroll through the historic buildings in Paris, shopping in one of Canada's prettiest towns.

Hike the trails along the Grand.

Or indulge in a spa treatment at any one of three premier locations in Brantford. (Better book that right now!)

Please Note: Gravelocity’s tours run rain or shine. That said, we reserve the right to alter routes, distances or start times to avoid the worst of what Mother Nature (or the local gravel graders) may throw at us.
