Elora-Fergus is a little more than an hour’s drive from Toronto, but cycling here is like entering a completely different world. A single ride can pass through farmland, marshes, forests and riversides, rolling over every surface your gravel bike was made for. There are five different rail trails within easy reach.

This Sunset Getaway turns the shorter late-summer days into a unique cycling experience. We'll roll out in the late afternoon and ride through sunset, then light up the rail trail as the sun goes down. After a post-ride dinner, we'll settle in for a good night's sleep at the Breadalbane Inn. But don't worry about rising early! Saturday's ride starts a little later and takes us to any number of scenic and quaint locales: a hidden farmhouse bakery, a riverside cafe, or a covered span known as the "kissing bridge."

After our ride, stroll the quaint shops and markets of the twin towns - or float down the nearby gorge in an innertube.
